I am an EMDRIA-Certified EMDR therapist, clinical social worker, and clinical supervisor supporting people to process through trauma and maladaptive behavior patterns as they work toward the life they want for themselves. As someone’s therapist, I see the therapeutic relationship as a partnership that works best when both parties are engaged in the work. I practice consent-driven care and partner with those working to do the hard work, as we sort through things together. As a social worker, I recognize and acknowledge the politics and tensions that are often present in our lives both internally and externally.
I am supportive, engaging, and relational. I see my role as a partnership with the client, and am open and honest about the work required on the path to a healthier life.
Emotions are natural. Emotions are healthy. We can live healthy lives even after we experience tough things.

Therapy Approach:
There is a couch. You don’t have to lay on it unless you want to. Your session with me will be engaging, and probably at least somewhat entertaining. At first, sessions will involve a lot of history collecting on my part, as we work together to develop a therapeutic plan. If we decide EMDR Therapy, or DBT is the approach we take - expect there to be homework. You will most often leave sessions with tangible skills to practice in your day to day life. This is the best way to learn what serves you well, and what does not.

Do you want to become more satisfied with your life in ways that, so far, seem out of reach? You don't have to go through this process alone. I'd like to help. Perhaps talking to friends or trying to change by yourself hasn't worked, and you may be left wondering how to really make changes that last. What may feel overwhelming to you may become manageable with someone who understands what you're going through and how you may move forward to satisfying relationships to those around you, your life's work, and most importantly, to yourself.

I LOVE this work! Being with folks in their vulnerable stories is a deeply held honor. I particularly enjoy working with couples as they seek more safety, intimacy, and authenticity in their relationships. When those experiences intersect with parenting goals and we get to pursue generational cycle-breaking - those are some of my favorite moments in this sacred work.
I specialize in supporting families with children ages 2-6. I provide services through a neurodevelopmental lens, and am in general child-led and play-based. I am certified as a DIR Floortime Provider (Basic) and a Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator. I love collaborating with teachers, OTs, and SLPs. I enjoy working with children with neurodiversity including those with diagnoses like autism, ADHD, or developmental disorders. I help families to build the skills to face challenges and increase the delight and joy they take in each other.
I believe that you are the expert of your own experience, and that my role as your therapist is to work alongside you to explore and conquer barriers to personal growth and promote positive change and healing. Having had experience as both a therapist and therapy client, I have an acute understanding of the importance of the client-therapist relationship in impacting successful therapy outcomes. I strive to provide a warm, inclusive and collaborative environment for my clients and encourage ongoing client feedback.
I practice trauma-informed, integrative psychotherapy using a combination of treatment approaches depending on the individual needs of each client. This enables me to provide individualized therapy that builds on my clients’ strengths. Treatment approaches I have found to be most helpful to my clients include Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, Somatic Therapy, EFT for Couples, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Self-Compassion, and the Health at Every Size (HAES) framework.
I specialize in individual and couples therapy with adults (age 18 & up) who are struggling with complex trauma, traumatic medical events (injury and illness), and food and body image issues. I provide counseling virtually in NC.
If you are looking for support in your healing process, and my bio speaks to you, please reach out for a free consultation. I look forward to connecting with you!

I earned my MSW in 2009, and have worked in a variety of settings (including hospice, home health, veterans, community mental health, etc.) and have been in solo private practice since 2014. I use a variety of evidence-based modalities, but my favorites are EMDR and Image Transformation Therapy. Every person I serve has a unique story. While some clients experience challenges in just one area, most experience difficulty multiple areas (mental health, trauma, loss, addiction), creating a complex, vicious cycle if not all parts are addressed. The circumstances that bring someone to therapy do not come in 'neat little packages.' I enjoy sorting out the pieces with each client, getting to the root of the issue, and offering a combination of evidence-based therapeutic interventions that help clients finally begin to experience relief, and start living a happier, more fulfilled life.
